Go barefoot in Kampung Jimba

The beach and the bay of Jimbaran, Bali is secluded, so much that the tranquility and peace you can find here can be a perfect antidote to a stressful world. The land gently slopes away from the beach revealing exclusive celebrity haunts. Some are hidden under a canopy of leafy coconut palm groves. Jimbaran Beach is also known as the home of luxury hotels.

Today, however, I will not be writing about luxury hotels. Instead, I will write about a home. During my trip to Uluwatu, I stayed for three nights in Kampung Jimba. For those four days staying there, I never wore any shoes, sandals, slippers nor socks. I went barefoot, and it felt like home. The interior also helps, with wooden old-Javanese concept, combined with beautiful colors that complement the nature in Bali.

Kampung Jimba is also a perfect spot for you to stay with your friends, because it is so close to Padang Padang Beach. Going Surfing? The Kampung Jimba is located close to the famous surf break, you can take your surf board and go directly from Kampung Jimba to the waves. At the same time, the rest of family can enjoy the scenery to the infinity relaxation.

Padang Padang Beach famous beach features an exotic setting; a simply stunning one hundred meter-long stretch of sand that is accessible down a flight of stairs through a unique hollow rock entrance. The surf has a steady set of barrels during good weather, attracting wave riders from around the world. Part of the group of world-class surf spots that line the coast of the southern peninsula, among which surfers usually hop to interchangeably for a different set of challenges and another thrill for the day. This beach is also a regular spot for international surfing events.

Kampung Jimba is also a great hideaway for a couple or if you’re on honeymoon. Escape revitalizing in a lush and private tropical paradise. Blending by the harmonious traditional ambiance, Kampung Jimba welcoming you to the natural sanctuary, surrounded by the tropical rain forest that reflects all the islands natural. Guest accommodation at The Kampung Jimba extends to a collection of 5 private units villas with 13 rooms in total. Each villa overall design blend traditional and modern elements for a look that harmonizes with the surrounding environment to celebrate the essence of tropical living. When you step your feet at Kampung Jimba, then you know that you are in the right place at the right time. Kampung Jimba, a great place to unwind and stop taking yourself too seriously.

During my stay in Kampung Jimba, Yoga and Dewi was my host from the front desk. But what a pair of helping couples they are! If you need any information about activities and other benefits, whether in Kampung Jimba itself or around Uluwatu area or Bali, they will help you with a smile. By the way, scooters are available for rent in the front desk, should guests need a ride.

Surrounded by tropical forest, the villa offers traditional authentic bedrooms. The Double Room has one bed, with a length of decorative white soft tone drapery attached to each bed, complete with air conditioner and ceiling fan. This room is perfect for couples or honeymooners to relax and rest in natural vibe rooms overlooking the tranquil and exotic forest after a day of exhilarating explore. However, if you’re going with your friends, the Quadruple Room has four beds, for four people. The wooden floors and walls, the wide space, when I went in the room I can’t help but reminisced the times when I visited my grandmother’s house when I was little.

Warung Jimba is a kampong (village) style restaurant which serves Australian fusion and Indonesian cuisine with a twist. Decorated with an eclectic collection of wooden furnishings and unique center piece to add it rustic charm. Breakfast is served every day, and its Nasi Goreng (fried rice) and Mie Goreng (fried noodle) are so authentically Indonesian food with a perfect blend of herbs and spices, created daily by Chef Lia.

For those who are seeking for the sun, the swimming pool is a perfect place to spend a day. Located at the side of the restaurant, the pool provides delightful panoramic view of the lush tropical rainforest. Go ahead, soak up the sun in style with the sun deck and bean bags that will let you sink down deep and sulk for hours. When I went sunbathing by the pool, we enjoyed fresh young coconut sand Burrito Chicken Wraps. Highly recommended!
