masterpiece hotels: The Patra Bali Resort & Villas
The Patra Bali Resort & Villas offers serene sophistication that eludes formality and has in the past been honored to host an extensive guest list of international dignitaries and heads of state.
The Patra Bali is one of the hotels that became a role model on the island of the gods since it was opened in 1976. And from time to time, the hotel is always trying to increase the guest’s satisfaction judging by several changes in interior rooms and villas as well as existing facilities made by this five star resort.
Upon entering the main lobby of this resort, my eyes were being pampered by some large scintillating Balinese paintings on each side of the lobby wall with a blend of floors and walls made of large marble.
After walking across the lobby, I encountered The Teratai Coffee Shop, a bistro that is serving Indonesian and Western cuisine and beverages. Sop Buntut, or oxtail soup, which served with white rice and chips as well as fresh young coconut, were the very appetizing cuisine to be relished for my lunchtime here accompanied by the breeze of Kuta beach.
What’s more, for happy tummy –and also for fastidious people, The Patra Bali also offered several other restaurants namely Rinascimento Italian Restaurant which was located near the shoreline, and The Heritage, a floating lounge that has been certified as halal restaurant, which was famous by the Balinese and other Indonesian cuisine. This restaurant was enclosed by a magnificent fishpond beautified by surrounding Balinese tropical garden.
Moreover, during my stay here, I also tried The Tenku Japanese Restaurant, which located on the first floor near the lobby. This restaurant was famous with its Teppanyaki, and here I experienced the Chef’s live cooking just directly on the table.
Not only did The Patra Bali have the proud to introduce their signature restaurants, but for light snacks and drinks, The Lobby Lounge at The Patra Bali also dubbed as an interesting place to unwind, and there were some photos on the wall where the important guests as well as the world’s top celebrities have been stayed at this resort, such as former President of the United States, George W. Bush and also Prince Charles of England.
I have heard that The Patra Bali is well known for honeymooners who want to experience a luxury honeymoon lifestyle and also for a family to undergo a lavish vacation. No wonder why there were a different typical family-styled room called Embassy Suite, a two-bedroom that located at the resort, and furthermore, the Royal Villa, two-bedroom or three-bedroom in the villa area.
When it was the time for relaxation and rejuvenation, I visited their Chavana Spa, which provided a great self-pampering experience. The spa’s Frangipani Body Glow of two hours treatment menu was one of the great signature, which the treatment were using Elemis spa Therapist product from UK to make the body fresh and shine.
Another key thing to remember, The Patra Bali also famous for business activity since this eleven-hectare resort offered nine meeting rooms, each with a capacity of up to eight hundreds and fifty people. Not surprisingly, there have been high-level national and international conferences held for several times in this resort. As for wedding event, the open garden that was directly overlooking the sea and accompanied by the beauty of the sunset in the afternoon, The Patra Bali also provided a perfect wedding venue that will never be forgotten.
Above all, these opulence facilities and service made The Patra Bali stands out as the masterpiece hotel and resort in the southern area of Bali.
